so we do not lose heart

to my friends, especially Jac & Huiling:

...but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13:10

We often question what is God's intention in allowing trials and tribulations to happen. We don't know, but whatever is happening, God is going through them with us. The time of trials and tribulations is not a time for speaking about the ultimate problems of the universe. It is time for the upward look and the trustful silence. Not everyone is strong in faith and able to trust God that He means well in the bad times. Someone said "The best I can do in times of trouble and tragedy is to demonstrate mute obedience"

We can never fully understand certain dark problems in our lives. Some light shines upon those problems but no complete solution is to hand. However, God's words tell us that His intention is good and we shall hold on to that. Enough light beats on out path for us to pick our way along it. But for the final explanation, we must wait until we get home and then our heavenly Father will tell us Himself.

If you still love, remember that 'love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.' (1 Cor 13:7)

For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18

We always ponder how will the story of our own lives end. C.S. Lewis explained with a quote: "we ride with ur backs to the engine...we have no notion of what stage of the journey we have reached...a story is precisely the sort of thing that cannot be understood till you have heard the whole of it!"

God is our divine author of the story of our lives and His story will eclipse anything written by the greatest novelist on earth. We must trust God to do this. Because our lives are hidden with Christ in God. G.K. Cherterton said, "You cannot finish a sum how you like, but you can finish a story how you like." All of God's stories end well.

Life may not go your way now, actually most of the time it doesn't... But always know that 'We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down but not destroyed.' (2 Cor 4:8-9)

So, don't lose hearts my friends... (:
