Oh, and Damien Rice too.
His songs are just so intense..and provocative.
It makes me feel sad, yet in an assuaging manner, somehow...
Right, melancholy is the word.
The Blower's Daughter is definitely an attribute of his fame.
But if I were to recommend only one of his songs, I'd say 9 Crimes.
"Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright?" -- The two prominent verses in the song.
The meaning is so deep and bleakly true...
Why 9 Crimes? My guess:
Does 9 lives sounds familiar?
A cat has 9 chances to die in its entire life, supposedly.
This wraps the song in its context;
i.e. there would seemingly be 9 crimes in a relationship before it ends.
Alternatively if you're not fond of a closure,
perhaps there are 9 chances for a couple to f**k things up before a happy ending.
This song makes me shiver.
(The song is kinda profound but yeah, it's about cheating on your partner.)
Because I used to think if your partner truly loves you, he or she will never cheat on you.
I guess I gotta alter my expectations a little.
The two prominent verses are saying:
When you confess to someone so dear to you that you cheat,
you're looking for a punishment,
you don't want to walk away because you still love him or her a lot.
Giving your loaded gun away is to ask your partner to metaphorically shoot you.
Because..you want to give your partner a reason to hurt you.
Isn't this appalling...damn.
Remember I said before that nothing is ever absolute except life, death and God's love?
Maybe I was wrong because again like what I said, nothing is certain.
But I guess I realised that there are things..which could almost be certain in life.
They are...
Making mistakes in life;
hurting someone you love;
and getting hurt by someone you love.
(Just in case you guys think I'm not okay, I am! Some songs and readings make me think a lot, that's all.)
Some not very interesting updates:

I got more boring stuff to update but nah, I'm getting lazy. Later friends!
